Spotlight - CodeRabbit

Cut Code Review Time & Bugs in Half with AI-Powered Reviews

While building AI-powered developer tools, we kept hearing the same frustration from engineering teams: code reviews are a bottleneck that slows down shipping, yet rushing through them leads to quality issues and technical debt. Teams wanted a solution providing thorough, context-aware reviews without the wait.

We built CodeRabbit to be that solution — an AI code reviewer that doesn't just spot issues but actually understands your codebase and suggests meaningful improvements. What makes CodeRabbit unique is its ability to combine traditional static analysis (through tools like Biome, Ruff, and PHPStan) with deep code understanding powered by LLMs. This means it can identify everything from security vulnerabilities to architectural improvements, complete with explanations and 1-click fixes.

Beyond finding issues, CodeRabbit streamlines your entire review workflow with automatic PR summaries and intelligent file-change walkthroughs. It seamlessly integrates with GitHub Issues, Linear, and Jira to verify issue fixes and maintain traceability. Teams can even customize review policies using natural language instructions or AST grep patterns - imagine saying, "Ensure all API endpoints implement rate limiting" or "Flag any DB queries not using prepared statements."

Today, CodeRabbit helps over 1500 engineering teams ship better code faster, with 5M+ PRs reviewed across 1M+ repositories. Our 17k+ daily active developers tell us we've cut their review times in half while catching issues they would have missed.

Like many developer tools we love, CodeRabbit is free for open-source projects. Try it out, and let us know what you think!

Join us for the AI Tinkerers San Francisco November Meetup, hosted and sponsored by Okta at their office in SF.

As a reminder to the community, AI Tinkerers is not a pitch forum or a demo day. There are plenty of other meetups well suited to that. AI Tinkerers is akin to the Homebrew Computer Club of today’s technology. We want your messy side projects, works-in-progress, and experiments that are on the cutting edge.

One theme that has emerged recently is Agentic systems. One of the big unanswered questions in Agentic systems is how are we going to secure these systems?

Join us at November’s AI Tinkerers - SF monthly meetup where we’ll be diving deep into the messy reality of securing agentic AI systems. As our autonomous agents grow more capable of acting independently, making decisions, and interacting with real-world systems, we face unprecedented security challenges. How do we prevent a rogue agent from escalating its own permissions? What happens when collaborative agents start sharing capabilities without human oversight? Some people say that since OAuth was designed for humans and AIs behave like humans, we’ll be okay. Others disagree. What happens when an agent needs to delegate temporary permissions to another agent? How do we handle permission scope expansion as agents learn new capabilities? These are the thorny questions we need to tackle.

Bring your experimental authentication protocols, your half-baked security frameworks, and your wildest ideas about agent-to-agent trust mechanisms, your examples of current generation agent framework security exploits and more. Whether you’re building something that works (sort of) or have spectacularly failed at solving these challenges, we want to see it.
